The fine tradition of badminton started at Jonesy 3 and has been going strong since. non regulation sized courts, a rule of “drink in hand” at all times, spills are -1 and each year some new house rules. The BadMon full bracket archives only date back to 2015. See each years bracket below
Jonesy 11
One of the most controversial tournaments ever with a 1st round argument between The General + TheSixthMan and Linguine + Biggest. With 4 line watchers all not paying attention and a drunk beef hearing a touch in the wind, it was enough to spawn a losers bracket. That bracket replaced Natasha, who was napping, with a sober Olympic outsider who defeated Biggest + Linguine. The Beef + Josh played twice more in the finals vs the General + TheSixthMan each taking a game 21-19.
Jonesy 12
A very windy tournament with some clean gameplay and little argument…..until the very end that is. Beef, needing to take an extra long deuce, ended up selling the championship to the Niel and Seth for a single beer. 10 months later, in the lodge above bobs burgers in sumas, a distort beef refused to accept this and spent a solid 5 hours of denial, trying to retain his championship. Somehow the beef managed to convince the Jonesy console during the opening of Jonesy 13 that he was indeed the winner….mostly due to the Niel not showing up and unable to defend himself in court.
Jonesy 13
A unique course in the sand which contained 1 giant stump and snaked around another. The first few games had a windy side but shortly after the wind died and it became a standard game of badmon. This year saw the first ever emergence of Virginia and Mark as a team and they played quite respectably.
Linguini had a total wipe out due to his decision to drink tallies for the tournament, requiring a shotgun and the beef and Dougie were dethroned by TheSixthMan and Gibbus. In a fit of rage, beef snapped his brand new $2.99 Racket in half.
